Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled the price of Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 at the time of launching with a price tag of ₹21.90 lakh and ₹18.90 lakh respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom. The global premiere of the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e marks a promising milestone in its journey towards an electric era and a sustainable future.

The BE 6e is the first model of Mahindra that has the BE badge. It follows the same design pattern that was shown in the BE 05 concept car in 2022. Although its production model may differ from the concept one, like smaller alloy wheels, rearview mirrors, etc. As a sports electric vehicle (SEV), the BE 6e will compete with the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, and Hyundai Creta EV.

The CEO revealed confidently that the EV sector has more future growth. He expressed that EV adoption in western countries is around 15 percent, while in India, it reached up to two percent only.

The upcoming electric SUVs by Mahindra, XEV 9e and BE 6, are built on the INGLO Platform. According to Mahindra, this platform places emphasis on safety standards, unmatched range, and impressive performance. It focuses on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which are crucial for electric vehicles. Mahindra claims that INGLO features include high-density battery technology and a flat-floor structure that offers a spacious cabin layout, enough space and comfortable seating for passengers.

These batteries are based on advanced blade battery technology that is taken from Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD. The company ensures that advanced battery technology may offer range up to 500 km on a single charge. The impressive range of both the SUVs makes them suitable for long trips.

3. Motor

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 are expected to be available with a single motor, offering power outputs between 228 bhp and 282 bhp. The high-power output makes them the strongest electric cars in India. Moreover, the BE 6e may be equipped with a dual motor setup and provide higher performance capabilities.

4. Exterior

The front of Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 with distinctive LED lights provides a futuristic outlook. The C-shaped LED DRL headlights and contoured aerodynamic bonnet of a BE 6E-like sport car give it a unique touch.

The XEV 9e has cube-shaped headlamps with the flowing creases design towards the bonnet. Both SUVs have squarish wheel arches at the front and a black window sill. At the rear of the XEV 9e, it has the Mahindra Electric Logo.

The luxurious interior offers a comfortable experience to passengers. The XEV 9e is supposed to have an instrument cluster, an infotainment system, and a screen for the front passenger, while the BE 6e has a twin set of displays and a two-spoke steering wheel. It has a gaming control button. Although both the SUVs have rear-wheel drive, Mahindra could alter it to an all-wheel-drive version of the BE 6e later

6. Cutting-Edge Technologies

The upcoming version of Mahindra, XEV 9e, was earlier known as the XUV.e9. It is expected to come with the AdrenoXconnect technology of Mahindra, which was first rolled out in the Mahindra XUV700.

The modern interior with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, advanced toggle controls on the steering wheel, and ventilated seats shows the high-end features of both SUVs. These luxurious and tech-savvy modern vehicles provide greater experience to buyers.

7. Charging Capacity

The advanced blade battery technology provides fast charging capability. It takes just 20 minutes to charge a 20-80 percent battery while using a 175kW fast DC charger.

The new electric vehicles of Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 will face competition as Hyundai is planning to roll out its Creta EV around the same time and Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is also to debut in spring 2025.
