1. Design and Variants
The MG Windsor EV is expected to have an SUV-like silhouette. Its contemporary design with smooth surfaces and minimal drags improves aerodynamics and enhances range.
The MG Windsor EV could be available in four variants: Excite, Executive, Essence, and Exclusive.
2. Expected Battery, Motor and Range
MG has not revealed the battery pack and motor specification yet; it is supposed to have one electric motor and a battery pack of 50.6 kWh. An electric motor may be able to produce a maximum 200 Nm (newton meters) of torque and 136 HP (horsepower) of power. The claimed range of the Indonesia-specification version is 460 km, and the Indian version is expected to offer 505 km of claimed range on a single charge.
3. Exterior and Interior
The exterior of the MG Windsor EV showcases its sophisticated presence. It is supposed to have a split headlamp setup, flush-fitting door handles, L-shaped graphics, alloy wheels, a charging port on the left side, pillar-mounted ORVMs, and a roof spoiler. It enhances the efficiency and performance of the electric vehicle. During spying, the MG Windsor EV was teased with a panoramic glass sunroof and reclining rear seats that MG Motors India refers to as sofa mode.
It may have an interior of black and beige, which is based on the Wuling Cloud EV, an international selling medium hatchback electric vehicle. It is supposed to have a 15.6-inch large infotainment system, an 8.8-inch driver display, dual-tone upholstery, adjustable front seats, a fully digital instrumental cluster, horizontally mounted AC vents, a multi-functional steering wheel, and wireless phone charging.
Wireless charging is compatible for smart phones, and it allows charging without the need to plug in cables. Its rear USB ports help rear-seat passengers keep their devices charged during travel. It further includes 6 speakers, a powered boot lid, automatic climate control, and a 360-degree parking camera. In this segment, it is the first electric four-wheeler to have an infinity-view glass roof.
4. Dimension
In terms of measurement, the length, width, and height of the MG Windsor EV will be 4,295 meters, 1,850 mm, and 1,652 mm, respectively.
5. Charging Time
Through the AC charger, the MG Windsor EV takes 7 hours to juice up a 0-100% State of Charge (SoC) battery, but a DC charge takes 30 minutes for 80% charging.
6. Safety Features
The safety measures of the MG Windsor EV possibly include six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), an electronic parking brake, and many more.
7. Comfort and Convenience
The MG Windsor EV is expected to have sedan-like comfort. Its high-quality upholstery material gives a luxurious feel and enhances comfort and tactile quality.
8. Price
The expected price of the MG Windsor EV begins at Rs. 20 lakh and goes up to Rs. 25 lakh. It is expected to be launched in September 2024. The MG Windsor EV is supposed to be a premium electric four-wheeler.
